Frequently Asked Questions
WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing during which micro incisions are manually made in the form of strokes to mimic natural brow hairs. Microblading is a manual technique and is performed with a hand held device that has tiny, grouped, sharp pin needles that form a blade. This tool creates small and precise strokes, that when used correctly, gives clients a beautiful full set of brows.
HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST?
The duration of Microblading varies from client to client, with many factors playing a role. For this reason, the range for the duration of Microblading has a large gap of 1 to 3 years. A brow reassessment is recommended every 12 months, but this decision is ultimately the choice of the client.
DOES MICROBLADING HURT?
You can expect little to no pain during your session. Although some discomfort can be expected, the brow area is first prepared with a topical anesthesic cream for 30 minutes prior to beginning the microblading process. We use NumbSkin topical cream at The Microblade Nurse. It provides a numbing effect, prevents you from experiencing pain, and allows you to relax during the process. After the first pass, a topical anesthesic gel is reapplied to maintain comfort. It is also reapplied, as needed, to ensure that your microblading experience is pleasant.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
A minimum of two applications are recommended. The first session is the Initial Application and the second is the Brow Reassessment. In some cases clients may require three sessions and in other cases some clients are content with just one application. However, we strongly reccomend completing both sessions.
HOW FAR APART UNTIL I CAN GET MY TOUCH UP?
The Brow Reassessment occurs no sooner than 6 weeks followinf the Initial Application. By this time the skin has completely healed and the pigment has healed into it true color. Appointments will not be made prior this time frame in order to allow the area to be completely cured and to avoid adverse effects, such as scarring.
HOW LONG IS A MICROBLADING SESSION?
These appointments are handled with so much care. We are very meticulous with our work work because we want you to have the best brows possible and we want to showcase work that we are proud of. Sessions can last between 2.5 to 3 hours. Please be prepared to stay up to 3 hours and eat before you arrive.
WHAT ARE CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR MICROBLADING?
Unfortunately, Microblading is not for everyone. While some medical conditions completely disqualify you from getting Microblading, there are also some elective cosmetic procedures that require you to wait before undergoing a Microblade procedure.
Uncontrolled Diabetes (interferes with the healing process)
Current use of Accutane (results in nonadherence of pigment)
History of Keloid Scars
Current use of anticoagulants
ELECTIVE COSMETIC PROCEDURES THAT REQUIRE WAITING:
